Report guide
How to read an IMEI report
An IMEI report is most useful when it is treated as a device identity baseline. It helps answer what the device appears to be before you move on to condition, ownership, carrier and account-lock checks.
Brand and model
The brand and model fields should match the phone in your hand, the seller listing, the box and the settings screen. Mismatches deserve a pause before payment or repair.
TAC and model family
TAC data connects the IMEI to a device family. IMEI.guru currently shows a TAC database counter of 245,670 records and uses that coverage to connect lookups with readable model pages where possible.
Status fields
Blacklist, carrier lock, financing and iCloud-style status checks are separate services from basic model lookup. IMEI.guru is preparing richer services, but every status result should still be interpreted with carrier and seller context.
Practical decision rule
If the identity does not match, slow down. If identity matches, continue with physical inspection, SIM/eSIM testing, account lock review and seller documentation.
Need a real lookup? Start with the IMEI checker and compare the result with your device.
